24-hour Chemist cuts their opening hours
The Beaufort Street 24-hour Chemist will close it’s doors for the first time in 20 years when they change their opening hours to 7am-2am from next month.
The co-owner and pharmacist at the chemist and said changing times have forced them into the decision to cut the opening hours.
“It broke my heart but the reasoning is, the world’s changing. People don’t go out as much. We describe it as the UberEats/Netflix effect… so there’s less people on the streets these days,” Dean Schulz told 6PR Breakfast.
“We’ve never made a profit in those hours, we accepted that because we don’t mind providing a service to the community and it gave us an identity.”
