‘We’ve paid a high price’: Why the $500 million investment in RATs is wasted
The Auditor General’s Office recently revealed the State Government spent over $500 million on Rapid Antigen Test’s last financial year, which they believe was a waste of tax-payer money.
Nationals spokesman on health Martin Aldridge told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live the report shows how the figures escalated so rapidly.
“It really didn’t have the normal checks and balances associated with it despite it being almost $600 million worth of tax-payers money,” said Mr Aldrige.
“This could have funded the Bunbury hospital redevelopment twice.”
