Why travellers to Bali could be forced to pay a ‘tourist tax’
Travellers to Bali could be taxed up to $150 per visit per person if the proposal by the government is approved.
The Indonesian government is looking at introducing the “tourist tax” to help deter unwanted travellers.
Indonesia Institute President Robbie Gaspar told Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons the number of tourists being deported is increasing.
“They’re sick and tired of it,” said Mr Gaspar.
“This is a wake-up call.”
