Round 9 of the 2023 AFL season is Community Umpiring Week, with the aim of sharing our esteem of the guys in green.

As a 2012 Claremont Districts Golden Whistle winner, 6PR Breakfast producer Andrew shared a poem that encapsulates his love and concern for the important role of umpires.

AFL umpire Daniel Johanson called in to regale Millsy and Karl with what he loves about the job and explain why this round recognises the work they do.

“I love the game first and foremost… to be involved in the best game in the world with the best seat in the house, it’s just great to be a part of,” Mr Johanson said.
