State Finance Minister Sue Ellery has apparently suggested the Auditor General – an independent government watchdog – may have be motivated by Covid denialism in her criticism of the State Government’s RAT test spend.

“There are  Covid deniers… if that was the basis of the assumption, that would be deeply alarming,” Ms Ellery said.

Nationals Upper House MP Martin Aldridge told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings he thought the statement was “symptomatic” of Labor’s responses to criticism.

“They’re not really too interested in other people’s views… it’s really a unique environment that we’re in,” Mr Aldridge said.
