Communities celebrate Wear Orange Wednesday to thank our volunteers
Today’s a chance for Australians to throw their support behind all SES volunteers by wearing orange in support of Wear Orange Wednesday.
Northshore SES Volunteer Cassidy Kempster told Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons about her journey and the importance of the SES.
“I joined when I was 16″… “When I joined it was the best thing that ever happened to me, I’ve learnt so much since then,’’ Ms Kempster said.
“We’re talking to people who are devastated about what’s happening to their home or to their area, it’s very important to me to be able to talk to people we serve and to get an understanding of what they need and how we can help them”.
