Jacqui Lambie has chastised the decision to grant WA a royalties budget bonus as other areas of the country – specifically Tasmania – are suffering.

Ms Lambie appeared on 6PR Mornings during her trip to WA as part of the Select Committee on Australia’s Disaster Resilience, where she has travelled to areas such as Fitzroy Crossing to better understand disaster recovery.

She told Gary Adshead the Federal Government needs to be more efficient in delivering disaster relief funds, but also brought up the growing difference between WA and Tasmania’s GST payouts, as well as inequity of the respective budgets.

“We’re losing $920 million off of our GST in Tasmania and I tell you what; between your royalties and your iron ore here, I just think something’s not adding up,” Ms Lambie said.
