Since September there have been 23 aged care homes shut their doors citing financial pressures and lack of staffing, leaving many families without suitable care for their loved ones.

Older Persons Advocacy Network chief executive Craig Gear told Oliver Peterson on 6PR Perth Live he wants to see a sustainable aged care sector and further investment to home care services.

“It is a whole system issue and we need to look at it both the acute health system with the aged care system and work with the government”… “about how we support people during this time and how do we make this system sustainable,” said Mr Gear
