Short-term rentals on sites such as Airbnb and Stayz are on the rise, making an already congested rental market even more difficult for everyday West Aussies.

Professor of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Sydney Nicole Gurran spoke with Oliver Peterson on 6PR Perth Live this afternoon.

“Short-term rentals are going to have a serious exacerbating impact on the availability of rental stock in WA, a 0.4% rental vacancy rate is an absolute crisis,” Ms Gurran said.
