Government decides fate of the cheque book
The Federal Government is discussing phasing out the cheque book to the distress of many senior Australians.
“If you happen to be an eighty-year-old person and you happen to use a cheque book, its like being told they’re going to phase out cash.” Chief Advocate for National Seniors Australia Ian Henschke told Millsy and Karl 6PR Breakfast.
Mr Henschke said while he is worried for older citizens’ he is happy the government is having a consultation period with Treasurer Chalmers playing a role.
