The contention over the 2003 Glendinning Medal competition may finally have a happy conclusion.

West Coast Eagles fans have been up in arms since Ross Glendinning awarded Michael Gardiner after that year’s Western Derby, in opposition to the judges’ decisions.

Nine News reporter Mark Readings told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast he had been informed Sampi would be made joint Glendinning Medal recipient with Gardiner in August.

“Ashley Sampi’s been through some health issues in recent times, so that’s really great news,” Readings said.
