West Coast will lean on forward Jake Waterman to strengthen it’s defensive stocks against Adelaide this week.

The Eagles will be without Jeremy McGovern, Tom Barrass, Shannon Hurn, Liam Duggan & a host of other backline options when they head to the Adelaide Oval on Saturday afternoon.

Waterman, who has played a number of roles this year, will be in unfamiliar territory as West Coast desperately search for options to match the Crows tall forward line.

Coach Adam Simpson told Wide World of Sports’ Adam Papalia the choices are limited.

“I said go back and play back and he sort of pointed at himself and said are you talking to me?” Simpson said.

“He was actually pretty keen.”
