The American Miniature Mediterranean donkey is becoming one of Australia’s trendiest pets.

Werone Vale Miniature Donkey Farm owner Colin Butler told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast he sees them as “paddock dogs.”

“They love scratches, they’re very faithful and loving; they always come up to you every time you’re out in the paddock,” Mr Butler said.

“The only thing is they don’t come and sleep on your bed, I guess.”
