Former Australia Test captain Mark Taylor has thrown his support behind Scott Boland to play in the opening Test of the Ashes series at Edgbaston on Friday.

The Australian selectors have a tough decision to make with veteran fast bowler Josh Hazlewood declared fit to play, but Taylor says Mitchell Starc might be the unlucky man.

“It will be very hard to leave Boland out” said Taylor.

“I think it might come down between Hazlewood or Starc. Starc will get you wickets but he’ll also go for runs”
