How we could prevent 40,000 flu cases
The director of the Wesfarmer Centre of Vaccination and Infectious Diseases says 40,000 influenza cases could be prevented if more primary school-aged children were vaccinated as Western Australia records low vaccine numbers.
Professor David Blyth says Western Australia is on track for their biggest flu season in recent years.
“The best way to protect yourself is through a flu vaccine and unfortunately our numbers are low and lower than they have been in the past.
