Bridgetown will continue to not sell energy drinks to people under 18 despite the town’s four-month trial ending.

Stores in the South West town banned energy drinks earlier this year as part of a Telethon Kids Institute research project.

Australian Medical Association WA President Dr Michael Page spoke with Oly Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live.

“The community has been quite happy with the effect that it’s had on reducing the consumption of these highly caffeinated beverages by sometimes very young children,” Dr Page said.
