Australian film and television productions which feature American actors have had to shut up shop in the face of the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast the fallout from the biggest strike in Hollywood since the 1960s means much-anticipated works like Force of Nature: The Dry 2 have been postponed.

“The publicity push was about to begin, but now Eric Bana can’t do any publicity,” Mr Ford said.

“Aussie films don’t have the big budget of overseas movies, and they rely on the stars to do publicity; if they can’t do it it puts the success of the movie at very high risk, so they’ve put the whole thing on hold.”

Peter Ford also discussed Whoopi’s recent walk-out; and the dispute over taking selfies at concerts.
