Premier Andrews’ announcement of the 2026 Commonwealth Games cancellation has drawn mixed reactions, some saying the decision had ulterior motives.

Australian Monarchist League National Chair Philip Benwell spoke with Oliver Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live.

“There are obviously deeper motives, because a cost blowout to the extent of three or four billion dollars, well that just doesn’t happen,” Mr Benwell said.
