The Juukan Gorge traditional owners whose sacred cave was destroyed at the hands of Rio Tinto have expressed anger at the State Government’s decision to scrap Aboriginal Heritage laws saying that the decision demonstrates that First Nations people and their culture are its lowest priority.

Dr Jordan Ralph from the Land and Heritage Unit and PKKP Aboriginal Corporation spoke with Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR’s Afternoons.

“What we need is for Aboriginal people to manage their own heritage and get the government out of it,” Dr Ralph said.
