Researchers are developing high-tech 3D image sections of hearing structures to find out why nearly 100 pilot whales were stranded at Cheynes Beach, near Albany on WA’s south coast last month.

Marine Bioacoustic Specialist at Curtin’s Centre for Marine Science and Technology Dr Chong Wei spoke with Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR’s Afternoons.

“CT scans provide very detailed information about the internal structures of the animals. So we’ll look at whether there is any significant damage or
injuries inside of the animals.”
