Dasvidanya: Russian moon landing a big flop
Russia’s first attempt to land on the moon in 47 years has ended in failure, with the unmanned Luna-25 spacecraft crashing into the lunar surface.
ANU Astrophysicist Doctor Brad Tucker told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast an issue with the craft’s altitude control system lead to the craft spinning out of control.

“When you descend too quickly you end up having a hard landing, which is just a very fancy way of saying crash,” Dr Tucker said.
Dr Tucker also discussed the new pile of space junk on the Moon’s surface, and who could possibly handle the cleaning bill.
