An almost forgotten 2019 report has revealed the capacity for Perth to develop its own ferry-based public transport system.

As reported on by WAtoday, the Department of Transport’s 2019 Ferry Service Current Status and Future Use report identified a total of 56 potential sites for ferry stops along the Swan and Canning rivers, which could potentially open up transport systems around the city and alleviate traffic.

Former Member for South Perth John McGrath told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings the proposal received multiple rounds of deliberation before it was shelved pre-election.
