Climb in tuberculosis cases puts sector on high alert
Parents have been warned to test their children for tuberculosis symptoms after a toddler tested positive for the disease, the 100th case of the potentially deadly disease diagnosed so far this year.
The diagnosis was confirmed by a North Perth daycare, putting parents on high alert.

Curtin Medical School Institute for Respiratory Health physician Fraser Brims told Julie-Anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons there’s a strong focus on investigating the spread of the disease.
“If anyone feels like they may have been in contact [with the disease], one of the main things to look out for is a prolonged cough that lasts for weeks,” Dr Brims said.
