New national push to combat worrying childhood statistic
A new learn-to-ride program has been created to give kids aged five to twelve the foundational skills needed to build their confidence and competence.
AusCycling Chief Executive Officer Marne Fechner spoke with Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR’s Afternoons and said we’ve seen a concerning decline in the number of children riding,
“75 per cent were choosing active transport – so either cycling or riding to school 40 years ago and across that period of time. We’re now down to twenty-five per cent.”
