She counts Miley Cyrus, Joe Jonas and Toni Collette as her clients, but for Lauren Winzer, tattoo art is something that breaks down any notions of social distance.

“It’s weirdly surprising how casual all of these celebrities are; they’ll just message me out of the blue on Instagram,” Ms Winzer said.

“Like, I had Joe Jonas messaging me for a month while I was overseas asking if I could talk to him when I was back home.

“And I was like, I don’t even know if these are real accounts or not!”

Lauren will be bringing her world-class talents to the Australian Tattoo Expo, running at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre until Sunday September 3.
