Four teenagers were rescued over the weekend from Bluff Knoll with authorities warning people to not climb to the summit in bad weather because of the pressure it puts on emergency services.

DBCA Albany Acting District Manager Luke Coney spoke with Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR’s Afternoons and said preparedness is key to staying safe on the state’s trails.

“They haven’t worked through the preparation stage well enough and have completely underestimated the difficulty of that area, particularly when you do leave trail.”
