Have you ever wondered if your bad driving habits could cause an accident?

Foibles such as putting your feet up on the dashboard could result in serious injury should drivers meet with an accident.

Drive Safe Australia spokesperson John Van Leeuwen spoke with Julie-Anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons about some of the worst habits Australian drivers are guilty of.

“If your feet are up on the dash and an accident happens, life won’t be great for you,” Mr Van Leeuwen said.

“You can imagine the airbag comes out at somewhere between 250 and 300km an hour and your feet are going to finish up pretty bad.”
