The average turnout at local government elections sits at 30 per cent, sparking calls for WA residents to vote in the upcoming local elections.

State Government Minister and former local government councillor David Michael spoke with Oly Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live and said local government representation in the community was crucial.

“Making sure you have someone from your local area to represent you and the things you care about is so important.”
