Although he’s being inducted into the WA Football Hall of Fame tonight, Phil Krakouer is driving across the Nullabor because he’s scared of flying.

Born and raised in Mount Barker, the North Melbourne legend topped the Kangaroos goal-kicking list on three occasions.

The sporting icon spoke to Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast about his journey in the AFL ahead of the awards tonight.

“I grew up idolising a lot of other footballers in Western Australia in the day, like Billy Walker,” Mr Krakouer said.

“Really I was just a young kid that wanted to play football.”
