WINNER: New Sandover Medallist expresses unexpected win
After a two decade wait, East Perth Football Club celebrated their new Sandover Medallist as Hamish Brayshaw took out the gong during last night’s awards ceremony.
After two spectacular seasons and finishing runner-up at last year’s awards, Mr Brayshaw told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast he was surprised to win.

“I knew I would’ve polled well and had a few expectations to have an enjoyable night,” Mr Brayshaw said.
“I certainly didn’t expect or think I was going to win.”
His win comes as his brother, Melbourne Football Club player Angus Brayshaw, has returned to training after suffering a concussion during last week’s game against Collingwood.
“Seeing it happen live I was very worried and cautious early,” Mr Brayshaw said.
“Now to see him back at training and to hear that he’s doing well: it’s a good relief for us.”
