Police have provided an update after Clarkson Primary School re-entered lockdown this afternoon.

There has been another report of gunshots around 2:40 this afternoon. Bill who’s wife works at Clarkson Primary School says staff and students at the school have been forced back into lockdown.

“The kids are still under the desk, the lights are all off and they’re all pretty scared…”

“She’s just said at 3:40 pm the TRG are sweeping the school now…”

Earlier – 

Police have deployed significant resources to the northern suburbs to investigate multiple reports of gunshots.

The first was around midday near Clarkson Primary School – which was sent into lockdown briefly while officers searched the grounds. Police say the lockdown was lifted around 1:15.

Authorities remain in the Clarkson area.

Police say there’s no need for locals to be alarmed – but people should stay indoors for the time being.
