West Coast chairman discusses Nisbett, succession plan, and support for Simpson
Eagles chairman Paul Fitzpatrick has heaped praise on Trevor Nisbett, with the CEO confirming this morning next season will be his last in the role.
Fitzpatrick told Adam Papalia on Wide World of Sports the 66-year-old will go down as one of the most influential figures in club history.
“He (Nisbett) is right up there, and certainly in the top two or three (Eagles) I would’ve thought,” Fitzpatrick said.
Fitzpatrick also threw his support Adam Simpson, following the board’s unanimous decision to keep the embattled coach for next season.
“I think it’s fair to say the board has been very supportive of Adam….. it was very important to us we have an experienced coach who’s a good teacher.” Fitzpatrick said.
