Drew Barrymore has copped backlash for resuming production on her talk show, despite the Writers Guild of America and Screen Arts Guild union still continuing their strike.

Her decision to resume production on The Drew Barrymore Show has also resulted in her losing her job as host at the 2023 National Book Awards.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast why people are so upset.

“When the writers’ strike first began she took a stand and she pulled out of being the host of the MTV Awards,” Mr Ford said.

“Then when her show did come back she made very clear in a statement ‘this is my own decision’.”
