With Grand Final anticipation heating up, outgoing AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan has shared how he feels his legacy will be remembered.

The big man faced a particularly rough patch during the Covid pandemic, but dragged the league up and through record attendance losses to reinvigorate the competition.

McLachlan told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast he’s particularly looking forward to being able to attend footy matches in a t-shirt, instead of his usual suit.

“I’ve never really had a beer at a venue since I stepped into this role; I’m just lookin forward to being a punter. I still love the game as much as I ever have,” Mr McLachlan said.
