A New Zealand man says he has reclaimed the world record for the most bungee jumps in a single day, after jumping off a bridge in Auckland a whopping 941 times while raising money for charity.

The World Record Bungee Jumper Mike Heard told Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR’s Perth Live how he mentally trained for such a tough feat.

“You need to hit a place where you’re comfortable being uncomfortable,” he said.

“I averaged a jump every 91 seconds and I was doing between 40 and 50 jumps an hour,” Heard said.

“I saw two high tides, a sunrise a sunset and then the sun come up again…while I was dangling underneath a bridge on a piece of rubber.”
