The reprehensible accounts of child predation in Australian daycares recently has caused a new series of debates on what should and should not be allowed in child care centres.

Child safety advocates are pushing for a ban on mobile phone use by staff when working with young children, with the aim of preventing photos from leaking online.

Bravehearts Inc. founder Hetty Johnston told Gary Adshead onĀ 6PR Mornings it’s an insidious fact that child predators use phones to collect and trade “trophies”.

“A lot of childcares are already banning mobile phones; it’s not unusual, and more owners are realising how important it is,” Ms Johnston said.
