Community services join forces to persuade City of Perth to keep ‘critical’ women’s shelter open

Homelessness bodies, family violence and sexual assault services have banded together in an effort to persuade the City of Perth to keep the Safe Night space open, at least until December 30.
Chief executive officer for Women’s Safety and Wellbeing, Dr Allison Evans, says it’s a “dire situation” especially in the lead up to Christmas.
“It’s a difficult and uncomfortable truth that domestic family and sexual violence against women and children in our community is just way too prevalent,” she told Gary Adshead.
