Mine rescue experts weigh in on India tunnel collapse

A former paramedic is warning it will take time for miners freed from a collapsed tunnel in India to fully recover from the ordeal.

Forty-one workers have made their way to safety through a passageway of welded pipes, after spending 17-days trapped underground.

Former paramedic Paul Featherstone has previously been involved in a major mine rescue, and told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast it’s been a major positive for all the trapped minors to be released without injury.

“To have all those people trapped under a mountain like that and for everyone to survive, it’s just fantastic,” Mr Featherstone said.
