WA’s integral freight terminals could be heavily affected by ongoing piracy in the Red Sea, shipping companies are warning.

EES Shipping Managing Director Brian Hack told Jamie Burnett on Perth Live they;ve seen “substantial disruption” to shipping in the Red Sea including through the Suez Canal, and it’s only a matter of time before the repercussions are felt back home.

“Obviously we’ve had to monitor this very closely,” Mr Hack said.

“Every day is a changing siltation as the security dynamics change.”
