Sport’s Integrity’s complaints unveil nationwide kids’ sport war
According to Sport Integrity Australia, almost half of the complaints made to the organisation relate to children’s sport, pointing to a worrying focus on competitiveness.
SIA received 608 non-doping complaints in the last year, dwarfing the statistics on sport-related issues the organisation is probably more known for.
Educational and Developmental Psychologist Rose Catali told Mick and Lachy it’s easy to blame the issue on children being too sensitive.
“I think what we’re seeing is kids are being themselves; it’s up to us as educators to be able to manage that and to maybe get the best out of those kids and people in general,” Doctor Cantali said.
