A first-time children’s author from Bicton is preparing to fly to the US, after being invited to the prestigious Orange County Book Festival.

Mark C Evans told Mornings with Gareth Parker, Crazy Crab is a picture book about a crustacean that sells shells but has big dreams of becoming an astronaut.

Evans will be doing his first live reading of Crazy Crab at Fremantle bookstore Paper Bird, on Sunday 10 September.
