A two year trial that’s kept drivers at a reduced 40kmph speed limit along Beaufort street may become permanent.

The city of Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin told Oliver Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live there was significant reduction in crashes and injury recorded across the two year trial.

“The biggest thing that came out of this was that it didn’t have a major impact on the other streets and the crash data showed that crashes were very significantly reduced,” Irwin said.
