Dockers legend David Mundy is confident Justin Longmuir can turn things around at Fremantle this season, urging the club to back the under-siege coach.

Returning to Wide World of Sports for the first time on Monday night, the former club captain says he hopes to see the coach re-signed before the conclusion of the season.

“He’s in a better place now to have a great influence and get the most out of the playing group,” Mundy said.

“I in a real sense hope that players can back him up in the first half of the season and these conversations can be locked away with a contract to put to Justin by mid-year.”
