Competition in aviation industry takes blow as Bonza bows out
Budget airline Bonza, the first new airline in the Australian aviation market for 15 years has cancelled all flights across the country today entering voluntary administration.
Bonza had 35 routes with 33 of them targeting regional areas.
WA Liberal Senator Dean Smith told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live the Labour government has taken their eye off the ball, blocking several applications and senate inquiries into the matter.
“We have known for years now that there needs to be greater competition for Australian airline consumers, that’s particularly important for people in Western Australia who travel as a necessity,” Smith said.
