‘Unfathomable’: family of home invasion victim still searching for answers
The daughter of Ninette Simon, who was badly bashed and robbed in her Girrawheen home, says her parents don’t personally know their attackers but accept they were likely targeted for their large jewellery collection.
The incident has raised questions about the immigration and judicial systems as one of the accused is a released asylum seeker who has a criminal history and wasn’t wearing an ankle monitor.

The woman believes her parents were simply seen out and about in the community prior to the incident.
I think my dad is still very much on edge; he’s probably feeling a lot of guilt for just opening the door,” she said.
