Gina demands removal of ‘impressionistic’ portrait
Gina Rinehart is in a battle with the National Gallery of Australia over the Archibald-winning portrait of her by Vincent Namatjira.
Associate Professor of Art History at Melbourne University Robert Nelson told Millsy and Karl Gina might not like it, but that’s tough.
“The notion of taking down paintings from naitonal galleries because people don’t like them, no-one really gives that any credit,” Mr Nelson said.
“Otherwise all these institutions would be at the whims of people’s private opinions.”
