The Guardian reports they’ve seen government documents which show show $8m was spent on bringing Coldplay to Perth.

Coldplay are promoted by Live Nation Entertainment, which the publication claims have received millions of dollars from the Western Australian government over the past four years.

Former Greens Member for the East Metropolitan Region, and candidate in the upcoming election Tim Clifford told Oly Peterson on Perth Live it’s outrageous.

“That money could have been better spent on WA artists,” he said.

At the time the government claimed it would inject tens of millions of dollars into the economy, with about 40,000 interstate tickets sold.
