The Australian warming system for natural disasters has now been adopted in Western Australia.

The biggest change is to the cyclone warnings – with the blue, yellow and red alerts scrapped.

They’re being replaced by the same yellow, orange and red (advice – watch-and-act and emergency) warnings applied to bushfires.

Deputy DFES Commissioner Craig Waters told Oly Peterson on Perth Live it brings WA into line with the rest of the country.
