Aussie-developed bionic heart successfully transplanted into human
An artificial titanium heart developed in Australia has been successfully transplanted into a human for the first time.
The operation, taking more than 40 hours, was carried out in the US and saw a patient’s diseased heart removed, and replaced with the substitute.
Texas Heart Institute CEO Dr Joseph Rogers told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings it’s game-changing for the medical community.
