Children are waiting up to three and a half years to see a pediatrician in WA’s public health system. 

Perth mum, Louise Thurlow told Gary Adshead on Mornings she’s been waiting for an appointment for 18 months after her son was waitlisted for an autism assessment.

Clinical and Counselling Psychologist at Psych West WA, Kerstin Anderson-Ridge told Oly Peterson on Perth Live there’s an alternative pathway parents can take…

She says children could see a psychologist within 2-3 months for an autism or ADHD diagnosis, which would open the door for NDIS funding and other support through the school system.
